In partnership with Bus Vannin, we’re inviting everyone – members and non-members alike – to come along and get acquainted with the brand-new, energy-efficient single decker buses that have recently joined the fleet. These buses also feature a new hearing loop system.
Public transport plays a vital role in helping people get around the island, whether for work, school, shopping, or socialising. For some, though, getting on a bus for the first time can feel daunting – especially for children just starting to travel to and from school on their own, or for people living with sight loss who may want to familiarise themselves with the bus layout in a safe and supportive space.
That’s exactly what this event is all about.
Step aboard and explore the inside of the new buses at your own pace.
Meet the drivers and staff from Bus Vannin, who will be on hand to answer questions and offer guidance.
Get hands-on experience of the seating, layout, and accessibility features in a relaxed environment.
Help children build confidence before their first solo journeys to school.
This event isn’t just for Sight Matters members – it’s open to the whole community. Whether you’re curious about the new buses, interested in sustainable travel, or simply want to help a friend or family member feel more comfortable before taking the bus for real, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
