We are delighted to share that our Sight Matters Lunch Club has been officially listed as a supported cause under the Co-op’s Local Community Fund. This means that if you are a Co-op Member, you can select the Lunch Club as your local cause and help direct funds our way — simply by doing your shopping.

Why This Matters for the Lunch Club

Our Lunch Club is not just a meal. At Sight Matters we know that:

• Members living with sight loss often experience isolation, difficulty in mobility and fewer opportunities for social connection.

• The Lunch Club offers home-cooked meals, a relaxed environment, transport support (via our volunteer minibus service) and, most importantly, a chance to build friendships and a sense of belonging. 

• Being chosen by the Co-op means we can sustain and expand this important service and continue reaching our members..

How to Choose “Sight Matters Lunch Club” as Your Cause

Here’s a clear step-by-step for Co-op Members:

1. Ensure you are a Co-op Member
   If you shop at Co-op (either in-store or online) but haven’t activated a membership, please register via the Co-op app or website.

2. Log in to your Co-op Membership Account
   Use the app or visit the website. Log in to your account. 

3. Navigate to the “Choose a cause” section
   In the app: go to the Wallet tab → “Your cause”.
   On the website: membership page → local causes link.

4. Search for our cause
   In the cause selection panel, search using “Sight Matters” or similar keywords. Ensure the location is set to the Isle of Man so that our cause appears.

5. Select us as your cause
   Once you see the listing for Sight Matters Lunch Club (Cause 95581), click to choose or select us. Your membership account will then register us as your nominated cause.

6. Shop with Co-op
   With your chosen cause set, every time you buy Co-op branded products or eligible items, a proportion of profit is directed into the Local Community Fund and will flow to causes nominated by members.

7. Spread the word
   Please tell friends, siblings, neighbours or anyone in your household who is a Co-op member. The more members who choose our cause, the greater the impact for our Lunch Club.

What We’ll Use the Funding For

Thanks to this support:

• We’ll be able to maintain and improve the Lunch Club services.

• We’ll carry on reaching members who might otherwise struggle to attend due to mobility, transport or financial barriers.

• We’ll carry on creating opportunities for attendees to socialise, share, laugh, and strengthen connections with others who understand what living with sight loss can be like.
