Sight Matters has received a generous donation of £50,000 from a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous. Half of this incredible gift will support our Younger Members' Group (YMG) for the next year, ensuring we can continue providing vital resources and opportunities for young people with sight loss on the Isle of Man.
The YMG organises social events, trips, and activities that contribute to a fulfilling childhood, build social bonds and networks, foster independence, and give blind and visually impaired children access to the kinds of activities regularly enjoyed by sighted children. Thanks our staff's training and expertise, our younger members are able to participate in a variety of fun activities, including axe throwing, rock climbing, and circus skills - as well as educational visits and trips. This donation will allow us to host more events, empowering our younger members through diverse experiences.
Additionally, the donation will allow us to purchase new equipment and technology, which will enhance the daily lives and independence of our young visually impaired members.
We are deeply grateful for our donor’s generosity, which underscores the importance of our mission. This donation ensures we will meet our year-one objectives for growing the Younger Members Group service, a crucial step towards our fundraising goal of £90,000 over the next three years.
Once again, everyone at Sight Matters would like to say thank you for this amazing donation!
