Life Grows On is a new Manx Lottery Trust-finded therapeutic garden project rooted in the belief that growth is always possible—even after loss, hardship, or change.
Located at Sight Matters' headquarters, Corrin Court, in Onchan, this peaceful outdoor space is being transformed into a fully accessible, sensory-rich garden designed to support the emotional wellbeing of people across our community.
Developed in partnership with:
Cruse Bereavement Support Isle of Man
Alzheimer’s Society Isle of Man
Manx Deaf Society
This shared garden is for anyone supported by these organisations—a place to reconnect with nature, with others, and with yourself.
Raised beds, tactile signage, quiet corners, and a central water feature will all come together to create a calming and inclusive space for reflection, activity, and gentle companionship.
Spending time in nature is known to reduce stress, improve mood, and boost mental clarity. But for many, green spaces aren’t always accessible.
Life Grows On changes that—removing physical, sensory and social barriers so that more people can benefit from the therapeutic power of gardening. Whether you’re planting, watering, harvesting, or simply sitting quietly and breathing in the scents around you, this is a place where growth happens in many forms.
The site is now under development, with the garden due to open later this year. When complete, it will offer regular opportunities for members of all four partner charities to get involved, at their own pace.
Watch this space—because life doesn’t stand still, it grows on.
