It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our former colleague, Kathy Parsonage. Kathy was a truly remarkable person whose vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.
Kathy worked at Sight Matters as our Lunch Club Assistant and relief cleaner. However, she went far beyond what her job entailed, contributing in countless ways to the happiness and well-being of our members, staff and volunteers.
Upon hearing of her death, one of our volunteers said: “Kathy was a lovely lady, always smiling and really helpful to me personally when I started as a lunch club volunteer in 2022.”
Her cheerful presence, wicked sense of humour, and genuine kindness made her an integral part of our community.
Reflecting on Kathy’s time with us, Cathryn Bradley, CEO, said:
"Kathy was one of those rare individuals who could lift the spirits of a room just by being in it. Her warmth, humour, and unwavering dedication to helping others will be deeply missed by all of us at Sight Matters. She was not just a colleague but a cherished friend to so many."
Kathy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of working alongside her and among the members whose lives she enriched.
